1289856 Maroon disazo dyestuffs CROMPTON & KNOWLES CORP 12 Nov 1969 [14 Nov 1968] 55449/69 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs of the formula (wherein R 1 is H, CH 3 , OCH 3 or Cl; R 2 is H or CH 3 ; R 3 is C 1-4 alkyl; and M is H, Na, K or NH 4 ) are prepared by diazotizing and coupling aniline, a toluidine, an anisidine or a chloroaniline toα-naphthylamine, and rediazotizing the product and coupling with a sulphobenzylalkyl-aniline or -o or m-toluidine. The dyestuffs dye polyamide fibres in light-fast, maroon shades.
