PURPOSE:To avoid decrease in clamping torque, by determining the tightening margin of a packing within the elastic limit of the packing by setting the dimension of a rotary ring. CONSTITUTION:A spring means 5 is provided on a fixed side for imparting a prepressure to an airtight slide surface. A rotary ring 6 having the airtight slide surface and a packing 8 for ensuring airtightness between the rotary ring 6 and a drive shaft 9 of a mechanical device are mounted on the drive shaft 9. Further, a driving metal fitting 7 is mounted on the drive shaft 9 for directly transmitting the rotation of the drive shaft 9 to the rotary ring 6. In this manner, the driving metal fitting 7, the packing 8, and the rotary ring 6 are clamped together to the drive shft 9, and the end surface of the rotary ring 6 on the packing side is brought into abutment against the end surface of a shoulder portion of the drive shaft 9. |
