PURPOSE:To uniformly form a hardened layer in a turbine moving blade cover at only a part which meets the incoming steam flow by applying laser beam to the front end part of the turbine moving blade cover on the steam inflow side from said steam inflow direction. CONSTITUTION:A specified metal is machined in advance into a specified shape of turbine moving cover 4 and laser beam 9 is applied to the front end part 8 on the steam inflow side from said steam inflow direction to form a hardened layer on the beam applied part. A laser beam radiation device 10 consists of an emission device 11, a reflection mirror 12 and a condensing lense 13. The angles at which the mirror 12 and the consensing lense 13 are installed are determined so that the direction of the laser beam 9 may coincide with the inflow direction of the steam. |
