The air conditioner unit for vehicles has a housing (1) in which are a heater unit (2) and an evaporator (3) fitted at an angle (alpha) to each other between the housing wall and an internal housing wall (32). A divider wall (6) is placed between the heater (2) and evaporator (3) which carries an air regulator flap (7). The housing is provided with outlets (11-13) to the demister, and passenger space and at its lowest point a drain point (10) is fitted to remove condensation water formed by the evaporator (3). Air is drawn into the housing by a fan (4) so that the air flows through the heater and evaporator in proportion to the position of the flap, allowing no untreated air to pass to the vehicle interior. This provides a unit which saves space and requires less energy yet is easily adjustable.
