Audio processors which convert monaural signals to binaural signals have had poor frequency response, lose some musical information, or are slow response. This invention provides a high quality set of binaural outputs. A high (24) or low (26) monaural input selected by a switch (21) is connected to an emitter follower (Q1) driving a light emitting diode LED (D1). A phase splitting network includes a phototransistor (Q2) responsive to the light output of the LED to provide an unbalanced ouput to terminals (36, 38) for connection to preamplifiers, amplifiers, etc. A dot bar display (22) provides visual indications of the output. The circuit can be used as a line driver, a noise reducer, and for TV audio.
|
