A shaving head for electric shavers has a plane tensioned shaving foil fixed to a frame. At the edge of the shaving foil, tensioning strips are provided on two mutually opposite sides for a rectangular shaving foil and a circumferential tensioning ring is provided for a round shaving foil, which each engage positively on the shaving foil, the bearing surfaces and anchoring means being arranged relative to one another and spaced such that the shaving foil, simultaneously held thereby, is under tensile stress in the use position. In this arrangement, the tensioning strips or the tensioning ring can either penetrate perforations in the shaving foil and the frame or, in particular, be moulded on in the edge region of the shaving foil and braced with the aid of anchoring perforations and pins and also a catch device. Special tensioning rings or the like and clamping connections, which might become loose under the tensile stress in the course of time, are avoided.
