The irradiation device for dental prostheses described has a thick-walled, trough-shaped container made of PTFE for receiving a dental prosthesis to be polymerised. The device may contain a xenon flash lamp which surrounds the dental prosthesis to be polymerised, at least on the sides. The operating parameters of the flash lamp are chosen such that a high yield of short-wave effective radiation coupled with low noise is obtained.
