A two-pulse invertor (1) having a device for tolerance-band control with two partial invertors (2, 3) between which a load (4) is connected, and having comparison of the desired value currents (is) and the actual value currents (ii) in order to achieve a predetermined current response is designed such that each of the two partial invertors (2, 3) is connected to a dedicated comparator (6, 7), and such that the switching levels of the individual comparators (6, 7) are mutually offset by the associated hysteresis setting for both partial invertors (2, 3). This allows the switching frequency of the individual parts to be held lower or the ripple on the output current to be reduced. <IMAGE>
