PURPOSE:To transmit images well, by covering many cores, which are arranged at random and have >=2 kinds of outside diameter, with a clad united to one body. CONSTITUTION:>=2 optical fiber strands 10', 11', 12'- which are adjacent to one another and have different in core diameter from one another are packed in a quartz tube 14, and this quartz tube 14 is wire-drawn while heating to cover cores 10, 11, 12- with a clad 13 united to one body. Not only the leakage of light is reduced by the difference of core diameter to attain images of a high contrast but also an uniform image quality is attained because of the random arrangement of cores. Since moire is difficult to generate in case of the connection to a TV camera and the break of the arrangement of optical fiber strands is not generated, the image fiber without cracks and pinholes is formed easily. |
