A surface machining tool consists of a rotating holder piece 2 and a plurality of lengthwise elements 6 firmly joined to the holder piece. These project axially from the holder piece and together form a forwardly converging body of rotation 5. This can rotate about the axial line 2a of the holder piece, and the envelope surface of the body during rotation serves as a machining surface.
