PURPOSE:To surely prevent winding of a sliver around rolls of a spindle where yarn breakage occurs, by providing a sliver ending device in a sliver exchanging machine, joining the sliver end of each full bobbin to a sliver of a small package bobbin in sliver exchanging and providing a yarn breakage detector and sliver feed stopping device in a sliver exchanging machine. CONSTITUTION:When each sliver bobbin on a creel becomes a small package, a sliver exchanging machine 50 moves along the front of a spinning machine frame to stop at a position corresponding to the first sliver exchanging spindle. At the position, the small package bobbin (1c) is exchanged with a full bobbin (1a) placed at a standby position. In this sliver exchange, a sliver ending device 60 is operated to take out a sliver end of the full bobbin (1a) and the sliver end is joined to the sliver of the small package bobbin in feeding the sliver end thereof to a trumpet 6 at the same time. When yarn breakage occurs in the sliver ending spindle, a yarn breakage detector 30 detects the yarn breakage to operate a sliver feed stopping device 305 and stop the feed of the sliver to the full bobbin in the spindle where the yarn breakage occurs. |
