PURPOSE:To measure the total moisture content of the charging coal in each furnace in a short time by detecting the moisture of the charging coal as an electrostatic capacity value by using an electrostatic capacity type moisture meter, and converting the electrostatic capacity value thereof to a moisture content. CONSTITUTION:When the measurement signal from a moisture measuring part is inputted to the control part 31 of a hydraulic cylinder 24 provided on a sliding base plate 12 mounted in the notched part 5 of a hopper 2 of a coal charging car for a coke furnace, the cylinder 24 operates to move an electrode 21 for detecting moisture forward so that the electrode is forced by a prescribed pressure at a right angle into the surface 6 of coal. The electrostatic capacity value signal between the respective electrode bars is transmitted continuously to a moisture measuring part 29. The electrostatic capacity value is measured at the point of the time when the signal stabilizes. The value is converted to a moisture content by using a conversion formula and is displayed 35. This measurement is repeated for each hopper, and the moisture values are averaged and are displayed 35. The total moisture content of the charging coal for each furnace is thus measured in a short time. |
