PURPOSE:To largely improve the cooling ability by reforming the arrangement of heat pipes of a cooling block and the direction of air blow. CONSTITUTION:A laser discharge tube 1 has a pair of reflection mirrors 4 and 4', and voltage is impressed on electrodes 2 and 3 from a high voltage power source 9. The cooling block 10 is fixed in close contact on the tube wall periphery of the discharge tube, composed of an intense heat conductive material (Al, Cu, etc.), and enlarges the sectional area sufficiently compared with the discharge tube. A plurality of heat pipes 5 and 5' have a part fixed in close contact in the cooling block 10, and are arranged and fixed in columns in balance type at equal intervals along the longitudinal direction of the discharge tube 1. A plurality of heat radiating fins 6 and 6' are provided at both ends of the heat pipes 5 and 5'. Air blowing is performed to the heat radiating fins 6 from the direction rectangular to the longitudinal direction of the discharge tube 1 by a blower means 8. |
