The composite fusing conductor for a fuse device, especially for a semiconductor fuse, contains a strip-shaped conductor element, which extends at right angles to the current transmission direction and consists of a comparatively noble metal, in a constraint region between two conductor pieces consisting of non-noble metal. In order to be able to produce such a fusing conductor, which has only a small proportion of the relatively noble metal, relatively easily and correspondingly cost-effectively, the invention provides that the conductor element (8) consisting of the relatively noble metal have a smaller thickness than the adjacent conductor pieces (16) consisting of the less noble metal, and be mechanically permanently surrounded on its two longitudinal sides by the conductor pieces (16). Especially silver or a silver alloy may be provided as the relatively noble metal, while the less noble metal may be copper, a copper alloy, nickel, a nickel alloy, aluminium or an aluminium alloy. <IMAGE>
