<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the structures and functions for retrieval of dictionary and study of language based on the conjugation for each part of speech, by specifying the retrieval information with collation between the input words and the selected parts of speech and codes of parts of speech obtained by a selecting means for part of speech. CONSTITUTION:The information on English words is stored in a read-only memory (EROM 7; while the information on the Japanese translation words is stored in a read-only memory (JROM) 8, respectively. An area A of the EROM 7 stores the spellings of ordinary English words, and an area B has the value which can be traced on the EROM 7 for different spellings in case the spelling differs for each part of speech. An area C stores a logical address of the JROM 8. The areas D and E of the JROM 8 store the Japanese translation words and the codes of parts of speech which specify the part of speech to which the Japanese translation words belong respectively. For example, an adjective key is pushed after BEAUTY is fed, ''BEAUTIFUL'' is displayed.</p> |
