PURPOSE:To increase the freedom degree for reading rows, by moving a photoelectric converter which reads a form rectangularly to the moving direction of the form and in parallel to the form surface in response to the reading column of the form. CONSTITUTION:The form 18 are sent out of a form feed mechanism 19 and conveyed by a roll 17 while the characters on the form 18 are read by a photoelectric converter 21 consisting of a light source, a lens and a photoelectric converting element. The form 18 collected to a storage mechanism 20. The converter 21 can move rectangularly to the moving direction X of the form 18 and in parallel to the surface of the form 18 as shown by an arrow Y. A control means 22 reads the information including the type of a character and the position of the print of the form 18 out of a memory (not shown in the figure). Based on this data, a moving extent or a moving timing is decided for X and Y directions. As a result, the freedom degree is greatly increased for setting position of reading row on the form 18. |
