PURPOSE:To join easily and securely a sintered hard alloy and a metal, by inserting an insert material between the sintered hard alloy and the metal and heating the same in a vacuum then subjecting the three thereof to pressurizing then to diffusion joining by atom diffusion. CONSTITUTION:An insert material consisting of foil or plated material of Ni, Cu, Cr, etc. is interposed between a sintered hard alloy such as cermet and a metal such as carbon steel, stainless steel or the like in the stage of joining both metals. These materials are heated to the recrystallization temp. of the insert material or above in a vacuum or inert gaseous atmosphere, and are then pressurized, whereby three materials are diffusion-joined without melting the sintered hard alloy, the insert material and the metal. |
