PURPOSE:To provide a printing apparatus easy in fabrication and capable of performing multi-color printing at a high speed regardless of the variation in the running direction of a ribbon, constituted so as to use a multi-color ink ribbon arranged regularly and cylindrically in an oblique stripe configuration. CONSTITUTION:Each hammers 4-1, 4-2, 4-3 for a red color, a blue color and a yellow color are integrally and paralelly provided to a multi-color ink ribbon 1 constituted regularly by a red, a blue and a yellow inks in astripe pattern so as to be inclined in the longitudinal direction thereof and shafts 2, 3 are cooperated with a shaft 5. Color discriminating sensors 6-1, 6-2 are provided to a position of 3n times relative to the stripe height from the position of a printing hammer group 4. The multi-color ribbon 1 is run by revolving synchronous roller groups 7-1-7-4 which are, in turn, rotate in synchronous relation to the rotation of the shaft 5 through adjusting gears 8-1, 8-2 and clutches 9-1, 9-2. By the rotation of the shaft 5, the printing hammer group 4 is moved to a left and a right directions. |
