1395835 Ethanol containing flavouring GENERAL FOODS CORP 17 May 1973 [30 May 19721 23685/73 Heading A2B [Also in Division C6] An ethanol containing flowable powder comprises a starch hydrolysate (i.e. porous spherical particles of 92% dextrose agglomerated with water soluble higher saccharides) having a D.P. of less than 20, with up to 30% by weight of the composition, of sorbed ethanol and water in an amount which does not interfere with flowability. The powder may also comprise an effective amount of food flavouring material. There is preferably not more than 6% water in the composition. The starch hydrolysate preferably has a bulk density of 0.62-0.67 gm/cc and comprises a majority of particles having a size corresponding to 40-80 US standard sieve openings. The powder may be added to food as flavouring.
