PURPOSE:To reduce a rotating shaft in size and to simplify a structure, by loading one ball between a rotating part and a non-rotating part. CONSTITUTION:If a pintle hub 11 is turned in a disc 20 is clamped state, a disc 20, a collet 12, a collet holder 18, and a ball holder 21 are turned unitedly with the hub 11, but a carrier 13, a holder 14 and a spring holder 22 are not turned. Therefore, one ball 17 is loaded between the rotating system and non-rotating system and used as a radial bearing and a thrust bearing to guarantee smooth rotation. When the clamped state is to be released, the carrier 13 is moved so as to be separated from the hab 11. The holder 14 is also moved together with said movement, but the positional relation among the spring holder 22, ball 17 and ball holder 21 is not changed. When the ball holder 21 is moved by some distance, the ball holder 21 is unitedly moved together with a collet pressing member 18 thereafter. The ball holder 21 is also moved unitedly together with the member 18. When the ball holder 21 is moved by some distance, its external peripheral part is abutted to the flange part 12b, and the collet 12 is separated from the hab 11. |
