PURPOSE:To descale effectively, by detecting the temperature of a steel material at the front of brush rolls, and controlling the peripheral speed of the rolls and a fluid spraying pressure basing on the detected temperature. CONSTITUTION:The peripheral speed of brush rolls and a liquid spraying pressure are respectively controlled by a brush-roll-peripheral-speed controlling device 7 and a sparying-pressure controlling device 8 basing on the detected value detected by a temperature detector 6 provided to the front of brush rolls 2. When a temperature zone of a steel material 5 to be detected is divided into 3 zones, that is, a low temperature zone where descalability is lowered, a high temperature zone where a scaly scale hard to descale is apt to generate, and an intermediate temperature zone between both of said zones where a descaling effect is satisfactorily; the descaling is performed by keeping the roll 2 peripheral speed and the spraying pressure at respective prescribed levels while the temperature of the intermediate zone is detected by the detector 6. Further, when the low or high temperature is detected by the detector 6, a control is performed so as to increase either the roll 2 peripheral speed or the nozzle 3 spraying pressure, or both of them. |
