This support for a bacterial bed comprises a frame 3, 4 to which is attached a cloth 7 made of a material which cannot be degraded by the bacteria. The frame is advantageously designed so that the cloth 7 undergoes folding in concertina fashion. Use for equipping reactors for the fermentation of organic substances for the purpose of methane bioconversion. <IMAGE>
