The subject matter of the invention is a slide projector having a viewing device for the slides that is mounted on the housing (1) and consists of a deflecting mirror (13) which can be moved into the beam path, a pivotable viewing disc (16) and an auxiliary lens. The viewing device is intended virtually not to increase the dimensions of the projection equipment, to be easy to actuate, and to be protected against mechanical shocks and against becoming dirty during transport and during normal operation of the slide projector. For this purpose, the front end wall of the housing (1) is constructed as a flap and has guides (12) on its inside for the displaceable deflecting mirrors (13). The viewing disc (16) is hinged directly to the housing so as to swivel about a vertical axis, and is covered in the swivelled-in position by the front end wall (8), which is constructed as a single-piece component. Apart from viewing slides on the viewing disc, the slide projector according to the invention can also be used to transfer slides into video recordings. <IMAGE>
