PURPOSE:To obtain a compact humidity detecting device, whose power consumption is low, by providing a converter circuit, which converts the detected result into a digital value, constituting a detecting element by an element having relative humidity and resistance converting characteristics, and providing a C-MOS ring oscillator, wherein the detecting element is made to be a feedback resistor. CONSTITUTION:As a relative humidity detecting element 6, a temperature detecting element 6, whose resistance value is varied approximately linearly, is used. A humidity detecting device 17 is constituted by a C-MOS ring oscillator 21 wherein the humidity detecting element 6 is made to be a feedback resistor, a frequency dividing circuit 23, an up counter 24, a latch circuit 25, and a humidity operating block 26. The oscillator 21 is composed of a capacitor 27, a current limiting resistor 28, a C-MOS NAND circuit 29, and C-MOS inverters 30 and 31 in addition to the humidity detecting element 6. The oscillator 21 is a CR type oscillator, wherein capacitor modulation is applied to a ring oscillator. Thus, low power consumption type, compact, humidity detecting device, which is suitably built in a compact electronic equipment, can be realized. |
