PURPOSE:To prevent discoloration of a photographic material due to a developing agent, by using resin coated paper obtained by processing the paper with a compsn. made of sulfurous acid or sulfite and dialdehyde starch, as a support for supporting a layer contg. a silver halide developing agent. CONSTITUTION:Sulfurous acid or sulfite, such as sodium sulfite, and dialdehyde starch are mixed so as to add a number of sulfite groups up to the number of the total aldehyde groups, and not above it. The obtained compsn. is added in a stage of making paper base from natural pulp, etc. or the like stage to treat the paper base, and the treated paper base is coated with a resin capable of forming a film, such as polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene to form a support. The intended photographic material is obtained by incorporating at least one kind of silver halide developing agent to at least one of photographic constituent layers, such as silver halide emulsion layers formed on this support. |
