PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor having high sensitivity and high durability, and adaptability to repeated uses, by forming a photosensitive layer contg. a specified bisazo compd. on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on the conductive substrate contains a bisazo compd. having formula I in which Ar is optionally substituted (hereafter abbreviated to o.s.) carbocyclic aromatic residue or o.s. heterocyclic aromatic residue; R1-4 are each H, CN, NO2, halogen, or alkyl; X is O or S; Y1, Y2 are each H, alkyl, or alkoxy; A is a group of formula II-V; Y3 is o.s. carbamoyl or o.s. sulfamoyl; Z is an atomic group needed to form an o.s. carbocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic ring; A' is o.s. aryl; R3 is H, o.s. amino, o.s. alkyl, o.s. carbamoyl, carboxy, or carboxyester; R6, R7 are each o.s. alkyl, o.s. aralkyl, or o.s. aryl; and m, n are each 0 or 1. As a result, the obtained electrophotographic receptor is high in sensitivity, suitable for repeated uses, and high in durability. |
