PURPOSE:To facilitate designing of a silver peroxide battery by arbitrarily controlling the electric capacity of the positive electrode by subjecting the surface of the positive electrode which is made by pressing and molding a silver peroxide powder, to reducing treatment by use of an aqueous ketone solution containing hydrazine. CONSTITUTION:After adding a binding agent to silver peroxide powder, the mixture is kneaded before being subjected to pressure molding to make a positive pellet. Next, the surface of the molded body is reduced by use of 10-9% aqueous solution of a ketone such as acetone containing 0.1-5vol% of hydrazine, and the molded body is washed with water before being dried. Owing to such reducing treatment, the electric capacity of a positive electrode can be quantitiatively and arbitrrily controlled, and designing of a battery is facilitated. By the use of such a positive electrode, a silver peroxide battery which has a flat electric discharge characteristics and a large electric discharge capacity and causes no increase in its internal resistance, can be obtained. |
