PURPOSE:To simplify a circuit by using a commutation condenser of a thyristor chopper which has a supplementarily charging circuit as a booster condenser for regeneratively controlling so as to drive a counterelectromotive force load such as a separately-excited DC motor. CONSTITUTION:A thyristor 39 is fired at a power drive time, a commutation condenser C21 is charged in the polarity as shown, a main thyristor 32 is fired, and an armature 15 is energized. Then, a thyristor 33 is fired, the C21 is inverted in the polarity, a thyristor 44 is fired to complete the commutating operation. When a thyristor 39 is triggered while no charge is stored in the C21, a power source 11, the C21, reactors 35, 38 and the thyristor 39 are resonated in series, twice of the power source voltage is charged in the C21 in the polarity as shown, and the thyristor 39 is interrupted. When the thyristor 33 is triggered, the current ia of the direction as shown is regeneratively flowed in the circuit of an armature 15, reactor 14, thyristor 33, reactor 35, C21 and power source 11. In this manner, the C21 is commutated and regeneratively used in common, thereby simplifying the circuit. |
