PURPOSE:To obtain a measured value of oxygen activity high in accuracy, by adjusting the length of a solid electrolyte protruded from the end face of a housing. CONSTITUTION:The solid electrolyte 3 and a molten metal side electrode 4 are buried in the end face of a support housing 2 equipped with the heat resistant outer coat 1 of an oxygen probe, and protruded, and the hollow part of the solid electrolyte is filled in with a standard substance 5 and a heat resistant fine powder 6. When the protrusion length l of the solid electrolyte 3 is <10mm., the heat absorption of the housing 2 affects electromotive force and delays the arrival of a waveform at a stable region, and when l is >50mm., the flow of the molten metal breaks the bottom part of the protrusion. Therefore, l is set within 10-50mm.. resulting in forming clear electromotive force waveform in a stable region, and obtaining oxygen activity value determined with high accuracy. |
