PURPOSE:To read data on data tracks of >=2 kinds of magnetized ticket, by discriminating a magnetic recording format and the carrying direction of a magnetic recording medium by the output of a detecting means to discriminate >=2 kinds of magnetized tickets. CONSTITUTION:Margin bits of a clock pulse track are read out in positions of tracks 2 and 8 by a magnetic head. Margin bits on the side of the track 8 out of those detected by a clock bit detecting circuit 16 are counted by the up- counter side of a counter 17, and margin bits on the side of the track 2 are counted by the down-counter side of a counter 18. When prescribed numbers of margin bits are counted respectively, a flip-flop 18 is set by the carry output of the counter 17, and a flip-flop 18 is set by the borrow output of the counter 18. When flip-flops 19 and 22 are set, a read timing generating circuit 24 for the one-clock system is inhibited, and only a read timing generating circuit for the two-clock system is selected. |
