PURPOSE:To make sure of motions in both times of starting and restarting as well as to make a starter possible to simplify its setup into a discharge lamp, by installing a series body consisting of a first bimetal switch, a start auxiliary conductor, a second bimetal switch and a filament resistance wire, while securing first, sencond and third connection terminals there. CONSTITUTION:A starter is attached to a supporting column 15, then a first connection terminal 12 is connected to a start auxiliary conductor 4 and each of second connection terminals 13 and 14 is connected to power terminals in between. Since a first bimetal switch 2 is installed at a position farther away from a resistor 5 than a second bimetal switch 3, it is hard to be affected by radiating heat out of the resistor 5 and therefore will not have been opened before the discharge of a discharge tube 1 is started, in time of starting the discharge lamp glowing. Since the first bimetal switch 2 is also installed at a position away from the discharge tube 1, temperature during operation of the discharge lamp is low as compared with the second bimetal switch 3 so that, in time of restarting the discharge lamp, the first bimetal switch 2 returns to a state of being closed yet earlier than the second bimetal switch 3 without fail. |
