The invention relates to a device for lifting a wheel on a vehicle which has two cross members which reach below the wheel, extend parallel to the wheel axle and are fastened to a support parallel to the wheel plane and form with this support a supporting element on which a lifting means acts. In order to make possible large lift heights without the device being released from the wheel, the invention provides for the supporting element to be pivotable with the lifting means about a horizontal axis running transversely to the wheel axle.
