In a process for the treatment of flue gases, especially from coal power stations, with contents of NOx and SOx and at temperatures of less than 150 DEG C, a solution is to be provided with which the pollutants NOx and SOx can be removed in high yield from an exhaust gas, and, to be precise, especially at temperatures of less than 150 DEG C. This is achieved when NOx is catalytically reduced in a first (dry) step and SOx is converted into calcium sulphate in a second (wet) step.
