A monitoring device for information contents of time windows for a multi-channel transmission system, particularly for conference systems, and central television or broadcast commentator systems with outside commentator stations in which simplex and duplex traffic is provided. Signalling, control, tone and voice signals are transmitted digitally on a broadband link (infrared link) in the form of needle pulses from a pulse transmitter device to a pulse receiver device. If the beam transmitter is unintentionally covered at the subscriber station, the interruption of the pulse sequence is to be prevented. For this purpose, a fixed time window is provided. <IMAGE>
