The invention relates to a computer tomograph having a fan-shaped X-ray beam (1a), in which the scanning of the patient (4) is performed in such a fashion that firstly a data record is supplied upon forward travel of the turntable (3a) with the X-ray tube (1) and the radiation detector (2), that subsequently a slight lateral advancement of the focus (11) of the X-ray tube (1) is performed, and that finally thereafter a further data record is produced by the radiation detector (2) during the return travel.
