In a device for injection moulding an edge protection of plastics on the front edges of wood or timber-product boards, which may be coated, by means of an injection mould that is split parallel to the board, which receives the board between its two mould halves and forms a surrounding mould space corresponding to the edge protection in its edge region, sealing strips of steel are provided for perfect and permanent sealing of the mould space with respect to the board and for compensating for significant thickness tolerances and existing surface waviness of the board, which sealing strips are mounted in the mould halves so as to be displaceable to a limited extent and are acted on by an elastic compressive force, e.g. an adjustable spring force, the sealing strips being made preferably of a plurality of short individual strips.
