A cable junction housing for telephone lines, traffic-light lines and heavy-current lines. The invention relates to various cable junction housings which are erected in the open air and are intended to be protected by paint spraying or brushing before having posters and markings stuck to them. This is done in such a manner that the housing parts (doors, both side parts and possibly also the rear side) in question are provided with a sufficiently roughened surface structure. Junction housings which are already installed and have conventional smooth surfaces can subsequently be provided with so-called masks consisting of metal or fracture-proof plastic. In the case of a suitable, that is to say sufficiently rough surface structure, they must neither have posters stuck to them nor be marked. They are bonded on the relevant surfaces by means of weather-resistant adhesive.
