PURPOSE:To compensate and correct a cut off electrode by forming a compensating electrode with both ends being exposed outside a seal member on the non-display portion of facing surfaces of individual substrates respectively and connecting both-ends exposed portions of the cut off electrode to both- ends exposed portions of said compensating electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 4 and a compensating electrode 5 are formed on a glass substrate 1, and an insulation layer 6 of low-melting point glass, alumina, etc. and a protective layer 7 of magnesium oxide, etc. are formed in sequence on them. An electrode 9 and a compensating electrode 10 are formed on the lower surface of a glass substrate 2, and an insulation layer 11 and a protective layer 12 are formed in sequence on them. The electrode 4 and compensating electrode 5 are formed with both ends being exposed outside a seal glass 3. When an open circuit is detected at the point A of the electrode 4, the root of the one-side exposed end 4a of said electrode 4 is connected to the exposed portion 5a of the compensating electrode 5 with a lead wire 100, and the other- side exposed end 4b of said electrode 4 is connected to the other-side exposed portion 5b of the same compensating electrode 5 with a lead wire 101. |
