In a means (2) for making building sites safe, in particular a catching means for attaching to building facades, which means (2) has a catching net (3) which can be fastened at one longitudinal edge thereof to a support element remote from the building, a solution is to be provided by which persons can be actively and passively protected on a building site, and protected in particular, on the one hand, that if a person or an object should fall into the safety means they are optimally intercepted by the net without being thrown out of the same and, on the other hand, that persons who may be beneath the net are also to be protected from falling objects. This is achieved by the support element (5) remote from the building being fastened by inclined struts (6) which run towards the building (1), which struts are mounted in an articulated fashion in a region (11) near to the building. <IMAGE>
