A method of manufacturing a bearing for the drive wheel of a vehicle, which comprises the steps of simultaneously grinding the outer peripheral orbital surface (5), stepwise cylindrical surface (6) and stepwise shoulder surface (9) of the outer joint member (B) of a constant velocity universal joint with one grindstone (21), simultaneously grinding the end face (10) of the side contacting the outer peripheral orbital surface (11) and stepwise shoulder surface (9) of an inner annular member (C) with one grindstone (25), and engaging the annular member (C) with the stepwisely cylindrical surface (6) of the joint member (B) so that the end face (10) contacts the stepwise shoulder surface (9) of the joint member (B), thereby eliminating the adverse influences of the outer peripheral orbital surfaces (5), (11) of the joint member (B) and the annular member (C) on the bearing gap. |
