<p>A drum which is designed to have an essentially horizontal axis, acts as a buffer vessel for receiving waste paper suspension, which exits from the pulper provided for pulping the waste paper. The drum has, in addition, at one of its ends an inlet opening and at its other end an outlet opening and at least in the vicinity of the outlet opening a screw conveyor with its radially outer edges at least very closely adjacent to the interior of the drum shell, which screw conveyor leaves a clear cross-section about the axis of rotation of the drum of at most a fifth of the internal diameter of the drum.</p> |
