PURPOSE:To uniformize a flow velocity distribution immediately before a model by arranging a porous plate on the upstream side thereof so that there are larger openings from top to bottom crossing a passage in a surface floating water tank adapted to visualize the flow about the model. CONSTITUTION:A porous plate 4 in which holes 4a are made larger from top to bottom are arranged on the upstream of a model M in a passage 1 perpendicular to the water flow. At this point, the flow immediately before the porous plate 4 indicates the flow velocity distribution affected by a boundary layer as shown by the arrow A. But the passage through the porous plate 4 makes the flow velocity distribution almost equal in the vertical way as shown by the arrow B. Thus, the even flow velocity distribution can be obtained immediately before the model thereby assuring correct visualized results. |
