<p>The invention relates to a process for utilising the sensible coke heat in dry coke cooling by means of an inert circulating gas, which flows successively through a coke-cooling chamber and a heat exchanger, at least a part stream of the circulating gas being purged from the circulation downstream of the heat exchanger, in order to keep the combustible constituents in the circulating gas constant, being burnt in a combustion chamber to give an inert flue gas and the latter then being cooled to about 25 DEG C or below and then being returned to the circulation. In this way, a reduction in the operating costs is achieved almost without any coke burning off. <IMAGE></p> |
