The partition wall for buildings etc. comprises a series of blocks each made up of a core (5) possessing heat and noise insulating properties the two major faces of which are coated with plaster (6) and form smooth finished surfaces ready to receive e.g. paint. The core (5) of each block may be made out of cellular concrete or compressed paper/cardboard. The opposite edges of the blocks pref. incorporate cooperatingly shaped grooves and ridges so that adjacent blocks interengage on assembly.
