PURPOSE:To improve close attachability of a lip part in an oil seal used for a spherical bearing to a ball even if the ball is rotated, by forming a secton of the point end of the lip part in the oil seal contacted with the ball to a semicircular shape. CONSTITUTION:An oil seal 25 is equipped with an annular member 26 of section in a squared shape with one end open and a seal material 27 secured as an integral unit with the annular member. A main lip 28 is provided to the seal material 27, and a section of a point end part 28a of said main lip 28 is formed to a circular arc shape drawn with a point A in the vicinity of the deforming center as the center of curvature and expected to be deformed when said oil seal 25 is used for a spherical bearing. Then a supporting part 29 and a sublip 30 are provided successively to said main lip 28. And then the both lips 28, 30 are pressed to a ball 5 by a garter spring 24. The main lip 28, in which the section in the point end part is formed to a semicircular shape, is never turned over by rotation of the ball. |
