Large amounts of heat from exothermic polymerisations in the heterogeneous phase can be dissipated by addition and evaporation of a liquid which does not dissolve the polymer under the reaction conditions and whose boiling point corresponds to the technically predetermined reaction temperatures under the polymerisation conditions used.
