PURPOSE:To prevent the direct contact between lithium and the inner surface of a battery case so as to facilitate insertion of the lithium cylindrical body into the battery case by crimping a wire net on the external surface of a lithium cylindrical body and inserting the lithium cylindrical body in the battery case in this state and prevent the generation of welding failure by avoiding the adhesion of lithium onto the opening end of the battery case. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical body is formed by crimping a wire net on one surface of a lithium plate that is cut in specified dimensions and winding it in a cylindrical form with the wire net side facing the external side. Then, a lithium cylindrical body 1 with the wire net 2 crimped on its external surface is inserted in a battery case 5. In this case, since the direct contact between lithium and the inner surface of the battery case 5 is prevented and insertion is performed smoothly and then the adhesion of the battery case 5 onto the opening end is also prevented, the periphery of the metal body section of a cover 6 and the opening end of the battery case can be welded fogether using plasma arc, laser, etc., without generation of welding failure caused by the above stated troubles. |
