PURPOSE:To form a paper sheet into a loop without variation by disposing a displaceable sheet guide on the upstream side of sheet register means of a sheet transport apparatus, and displacing the guide at the time of feeding the paper sheet to form the sheet into a fixed loop. CONSTITUTION:A paper sheet 9 in an upper cassette 8 of a paper feed portion is fed out by the rotation of a semi-circular paper feed roller 10 to be transported to register rollers 4, 5 through an intermediate guide 7 and an upper guide 11, and then fed to a photoreceptor drum 19. In this arrangement, sheet detecting means 12 is disposed in such a manner as to cross a part of each paper passing portion of the intermediate guide 7 and the upper guide 11, and moving means 13 for moving the upper guide 11 is mounted at a position apart from the paper passing portion. The time from the start of rotating the paper feed roller 10 to the detection of the sheet detecting means 12 is measured, and the upper guide 11 is moved corresponding to the measured value, so that when the paper sheet 9 reaches the rollers 4, 5, it is looped without variation. |
