PURPOSE:To hold the proportional relation of a flow rate, measured and integrated by a flow rate measuring mechanism, to a working time irrespective of a fluctuation in a feed water flow rate due to control of the temperature of hot water, by mounting a mechanism which maintains in a constant value the flow rate at the flow rate measuring part of a feed water passage. CONSTITUTION:In a water heater provided with a mechanism 4 for automatically and reversely actuating a burner 2 for combustion in linkage with an operation to feed water to a heat exchanger 1 for heating water, a flow rate measuring mechanism 8 for calculating and integrating a feed water flow rate is located on a feed water passage 6. Further, the water heater is provided with the mechanism 9 which automatically stops combustion by shutting off the supply of the fuel to two burners 2 and 3 when the value integrated by the flow rate measuring mechanism 8 exceeds a specified value, and a mechanism 11, e.g., a constant-flow rate governor, which maintains in a constant value a flow rate at a bypass passage 10 for a flow rate measuring flow passage part 6A of the flow rate measuring mechanism 8 on the feed water passage 6 and a flow rate at the flow rate measuring part 6A. |
