A heat store (3) which can be charged by an electrical heater (5) is provided in a hot-air apparatus having said heater (5). The heater (5) is connected to the electrical mains when the hot-air apparatus is inserted into a charging device (17). A fan (2) in the apparatus is driven by a DC motor (13) which receives its power from a rechargeable battery in the housing (1) of the hot-air apparatus. As a result of this design, the hot-air apparatus does not need to be connected to the electrical mains by a mains cable during use. <IMAGE>
